To help to avoid unnecessary accidents on our roads, driving licence of any driver arrested for careless driving, should be checked from the licencing office to find out whether the said driver passed his/her driving test. If the one did not go through practical and theory tests. the person should be forced to take the test before the licence is given back. There are so many people on the road who think they can overtake another vehicle from whichever lane on the road. Most have no idea to stop on a round-about giving way to approaching vehicle on their left-hand side. This is typical way we drive in the country, and one always question whether such drivers did go through driving testing. Others think they can driver on any lane when on dual carriage roads or on motorways, as they have no clue as to left lanes are for overtaking only and should leave the lane vacant when traffic is not heavy. Most of the time one would see tanker drivers, tipper trucks and some heavy loaded vehicles driving at a speed of about 10-15 mph on the fast lanes and one would have to overtake such trucks from inside lane. Police and motor unions should arrange to educate drivers on roads discipline. Obviously, if people can buy their licence without going through driving test, what should we expect?

These are the kind of lectures that we have as a nation. Some uses their positions to be flirting with their students girls thereby awarding them grades that they aren't supposed to get.

This is a nothing to report about. How many people aren't convicted every day for various traffic offenses? As for the quality of the reporting, blame it on the JSS and its graduates.

The amount is too small. What can 240do? It is not deterrent enough. The lecturer's license should be seized and banned from driving for at least two months.

What a joke?! Is it because he is a lecturer? Can the GHC240 pay for the medical expenses of the injured persons?

I will seriously urge the prosecution to appeal against it. It is not because he is a lecturer but the fine does not fit the crime.

What kind of reporting is this,? and by GNA.
If the reporter is not good, how about the editor.
They don't even know the difference between "crushed" and "crashed".
The story is full of sh#t.
This editor must be sacked.
