This is the most stupid, senseless arrest i've ever heard in my whole working career. It is politically and tribalistically motivated. The NDC government is creating a situation in the country where people bearing Akan names and perceived to be NPP supporters are being haunted like wild animals and losing their jobs daily.
The latest arrest at GIPC of the lady who reported the misconduct culminating in the dismissal of the GIPC Boss last year is nothing but mischievous. What was the purpose of the Whistle blowers laws passed some years ago? Is it right to victimize people who report malfeasance at work places? Is it fair to dismiss somebody from his job because he or she is perceived to belong to the other side of the political divide? Why is the government afraid that secret deals and corruption going on at the presidency and GIPC should not come to public notice?
I'm happy that the British Prime Minister has invited Mahama to Britain a day before the G8 meeting in London. The British Prime Minister will advise Mahama to show full commitment to good governance, fight against corruption and tranparency in his administration. Mahama is a disgrace to this country, and among the comity of nations.
Sacking people from office for flimsy excuses is not good for our democracy. It means that if NPP comes to power after the Supreme Court ruling, all government employees perceived to be supporters of the NDC must lose their jobs. The government in power will always manufacture flimsy reasons to dismiss hard working employees. This kind of situation should never be countenanced.
We as a country are getting to a situation where the only option left for us is to engage in a fratricidal civil war as it happened in Nigeria and other countries in the sub-region. It is only after such a civil war that the surviving remnants would see the need to live as one people with a common destiny.
Alternatively, we may need a better revolution to eliminate all those who have brought about this divisive tendencies among the Ghanaians, and ussher in a people who will think about the country first before individual egos.
When such a civil war starts, we shall see those who will cross the volta lake to seek sanctuary in Togo, and those crossing the forest reserves in the Western region to La Cote d'Ivoire, and those in the north to Burkina Faso. It is only the scar of such a war that would remind Ghanaians to learn to live in peace and do away with tribalism, and divisive tendencies.
If this type of governance which brings in its trail tribalism, winner takes all, dismissals for perceived political leanings is democracy, then we don't need it.

"Investment information leading to the presidency". The phrase smells foul. What investment is there that should be wrapped in secrecy from the people of Ghana. By the way, isn't the "presidency" banned from any type of business while in power? Any wonder they are so reluctant to even drive away foreigners who just walk into the country and start digging our soil for gold? The Chinese said they have proper documentation; why did the government not say it is not true?
