Video exposes man over defilement

A 40-year-old trader Kwabena Manu who is accused of defiling a 14- year old girl at Bubuashie, in Accra, has been exposed following a video recording of the act.

Manu was exposed by a colleague of the victim who took video shots after Manu lured the victim into his kiosk and in the absence of wife defiled the victim twice.

Charged with defilement, Manu has pleaded not guilty and the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong-Adjin turned down his bail application and remanded him into police custody.

The case has, been adjourned to August 23.

Prosecuting Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant is a driver residing at Bubuashie while the accused also resides at the same vicinity.

On July 1, this year the victim went to play with her colleagues at the accused person's house. While there Manu called her and informed her that her hair was bushy and that he was going to shave it off for her.

The victim obliged and Manu lured her into his kiosk which served as his sleeping place and defiled her on the floor and warned her not to inform anyone.

The following day, prosecution said Manu repeated the act in the absence of his wife.

However, prosecution said, a 15 year -old colleague of the victim name withheld took video shots of the sexual act and he showed it to her friend.

The video was shown to the complainant and he reported the matter to the Police and a medical form was issued to the complainant to send the victim to the hospital while Manu was arrested.
