Stars-Cranes: Uganda Axe Top Striker

HASSAN Mubiru has been axed from a Cranes team of 18 travelling to Kumasi today to take on Ghana?s Black Stars.

The APR forward was dropped for fitness reasons. His relegation to the bench against South Africa last year created heated debate, but coach Mohammed Abbas insisted: ?He is far too heavy. I tried him against Express trial match which ended 2-2, but he wasn?t good enough. He is deteriorating each time I see him.?
