New soccer club inaugurated

Winneba, June 30, GNA - A new soccer club known as the "WINNEBA WINDIC F/C" has been inaugurated at Winneba with Mr Alex Marking, a US-based Ghanaian as its Patron. Other officers are, Messer William Wilson, Chairman, Jerry Adjei, Secretary, Frederic Sackey, Treasurer and Larry Botwe, Public Relation Officer.

The club has been duly registered with the Central Region Football Association and would participate in the Division Two league scheduled to start next month. The aim according to Mr Wilson is to gain promotion into the elite division in the shortest possible time.

The club embarks on a weeklong "justify-your-inclusion" exercise at the Winneba Sports College beginning Friday, July 1, to select the core players for the team.
