STARLETS FACE ARGENTINA SEPTEMBER 5

Ghana's Under 17 side , the Black Starlets face Argentina in Port Said , Egypt on September 5,1997 in the world FIFA/JVC Under 17 tournaments. Egypt the host clash with Thailand in the opening game in Cairo, on September 4, 1997. The Starlets will play alongside Bahrain , Costa Rica, and Argentina in Group D. According to the fixtures released by the Africa Football Confederation yesterday the Starlets will play their second match against Bahrain in Port Said on September 7,1997. The Ghanaians play their last group match on September 10, 1997 in Alexandria against Cost Rica.

Other matches in Group D, are Costa Rica versus Bahrain on September 5,1997 , in Port Said , Argentina-Costa Rica in Port Said on September 7,1997 and Argentina Bahrain (Port Said) on September 10,1997. Group A has Egypt, Thailand , Chile, and Germany while New Zealand, Mali, Mexico and Spain play in Group B.

Group A teams will be based in Cairo with Group in Ismailaya. In Group C which has Oman, United States , Austria and Brazil all the matches will be played in Alexandria. Tge quarter - finals is scheduled for September 14 and 15 while the semi- finals will be played on September,18,1997 with the third place on September 21,1997. The finals will be played in Cairo on September 21, 1997.
