Richard Commey Richard Commey

Ghana’s world title hopeful, Richard Commey, has called on Ghanaians to take it easy on Obodai Sai following the latter’s lost last Friday at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Sai failed to make the nation proud as he was stopped in round five by Namibia’s Walter Kautondokwa.

Kautondokwa thus defended his WBO Africa middleweight belt and added the the IBF Africa middleweight to his belt collection.

After the fight, a lot of Ghanaians have criticized the former Commonwealth welterweight champion over his performance.

But Commey took to Facebook to plead on Sai’s behalf.

“To all the boxing fans across this country i’m pleading with u to take it easy on Obodai Sai as this is the hardest part of his career lets rather show love and support than to blame him because things happen in boxing,” Commey posted.

“He went into this fight hoping to lift the flag of this country high but unfortunately it turned out to b something else, every boxer will maybe one day face a defeat but its hard to face it how my fellow Boxer Obodai Sai did, God bless us all,TeamRC#ProudlyGhanaian#.”
