Kotoko Supporters urged to buy shares

Accra, Feb. 29, GNA - Mr Michael Cofie, Chairman of the Teshie-Nungua Supporters Union of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club (Circle 142), on Sunday called on supporters of the club to support the Otumfuo Special Initiative for Supporters when it is launched next month.

This, he said, would enable them to buy shares to be floated on the Stock Exchange to generate more funds for the club.

Mr Cofie who made the call at the union's General Meeting in Accra on Saturday, said if the club was able to mobilise more funds, it would woe investors to invest in the club's Stadium Project. He called on soccer fans not to link football with politics since it would mar the beauty of the game.

Mr Augustine Amakye-Boakye, Vice-Chairman of the union, appealed to supporters to comport themselves during and after football matches. He said the union would educate members on the regulations of the game so that they would not be surprised at and provoked by referrers' decisions they were not familiar with.

Mr J.K. Taylor, Organizer of the union said the it would support the club both in cash and in kind adding that the union would soon start a membership drive and mobilize more supporters for the club.
