Addo On The Move

Ghanaian international defender Eric Addo has spoken of his hopes of restoring his reputation after his move to Dutch side Roda JC. Addo spent three injury-ravaged years at PSV Eindhoven after a 6m Euro move from Belgian side Club Brugges, but played only 24 times for the former European Champions.

At Brugges he had been viewed as a potential superstar on the European stage after bursting into the first team ranks and helping them to win a Belgian championship.

And he said that he hoped the switch to Roda would see his potential finally fulfilled.

"I'm hoping now to show at Roda what I can do," Addo told Dutch magazine Voetbal International.

"When I moved to PSV there was a lot of pressure and obviously it got worst when I was injured. They paid a lot of money for me.

"I still need to show the supporters what I am capable of and the move to Roda is the solution for me."

And he added that his continued spells on the sidelines had taught him new aspects of the game.

"It was an incredibly difficult period and I learnt very clearly there was another side to football," Addo said.
