Mr Edward Osei Kwaku, Minister of Youth and Sports has presented a cheque for 40 million cedis for the expansion of the Gyamfi Park at Bekwai in the Amansie East District of Ashanti.

He said the amount is to assist in the expansion of the park to create

an avenue for the promotion and development of sports in the district.

Mr Osei Kwaku who is also the Member of Parliament for Asokwa West hoped the committee engaged on the expansion project would work with zeal and dedication for the early completion of the project.

Nana Karikari Apau 11, Omanhene of Bekwai traditional area who

received the cheque thanked the Minister for his interest in reviving sports in the district.

He assured the Minister of the support of the traditional council in

the execution of the project.

Mr Moses Kwame Bentil, Chairman of the committee supervising the project said there has been positive results from the people in raising funds for the completion of the project.

He said the Amansie East District Assembly has promised to support the project to create a place for recreation and entertainment.
