Kotoko coach wants to be best in Africa

Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, head coach of Asante Kotoko is not celebrating yet despite leading the Ghanaian champions to a historic 7-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea side, Sony Eguema in his first continental club assignment.

Coach Dramani’s side secured the seemingly unassailable lead in the 2013 CAF Champions’ League first preliminary round first leg encounter in Kumasi ahead of the return leg in Equatorial Guinea this weekend but for the U-17 Women’s World Cup bronze winning tactician, there is a lot of work more to be done for his side to conquer Africa once again.

“We need to qualify and now that we know our opponents, it gives us a lot of tips on how to approach the second leg,” Coach Dramani said post-match.

He continued: “We’ll go there to play the same free flowing football but have the focus that we need to qualify for the next stage of the competition. The mentality I want to put into the team is that we can go anywhere and play our normal game.”

The Kotoko Coach added on his apparent hero status in Kumasi following the comprehensive win: “Football is like that. Today if it’s good, you are a hero but if it’s bad then you become a villain so I’m not swollen-headed.

“I want to become one of the big coaches in Africa so these are some of the things you have to go through to become strong.”
