Mazembe is a massive step up - Kissi Boateng

Black Stars left back Richard Kissi Boateng has described his move to DR Congo giants TP Mazembe as a massive step up in his career.

He noted that it is a great honour for him to join the former African champions, adding that the new experience will give him the opportunity to make a mark for Ghanaians.

“Playing for TP Mazembe will give me the opportunity of making a mark for Ghanaians. TP Mazembe has taken part in the World Club Cup before and so they have played at the highest level. So it is a massive step up for me.”

Kissi Boateng left Ghana last night with team-mate Solomon Asante to join the DR Congo side, who expressed interest in both players after impressive performances for Berekum Chelsea in the CAF Champions League last year.

The two players join fellow Ghanaians Gladson Awako, Daniel Nii Adjei and Yaw Frimpong at the club.
