Clottey to sign for Tunisia's Esperance

Berekum Chelsea striker Emmanuel Clottey will be undergoing medicals with Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis this week.

Chelsea have agreed a US$1.5 million transfer fee with the reigning Caf Champions League title holders.

The 25-year-old is expected to earn about US$500,000 a year after agreeing personal terms.

Goal.com Ghana understands Club Africain and Etoile du Sahel showed keen interest to sign the leading goal scorer of the 2012 Caf Champions League, but the Blood and Gold’s bid was enticing.

Clottey is unable to join the Black Stars for the Liberia trip on Monday since he has to be in Tunis to see to his transfer deal.

Meanwhile, 18 players will Leave Ghana to Monrovia today for a friendly game with the Lone Star to commemorate Liberia’s Independence Day Celebrations.

Midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and defender Daniel Opare are out due to injuries while Adam Kwarasey, Harrison Afful and Isaac Vorsah have been excused due to club commitments.
