Waris extends lead in Swedish goalking chart

Ghana striker Abdul-Majeed Waris extended his lead at the top of the Swedish top-flight scorers’ charts when he scored on Sunday.

The 20-year-old, who plays for Hacken, was on target in their 4-2 win over league leaders Elfsborg.

The Black Stars striker sealed the victory for Hacken when he scored very late in the game to take his league goals to 14 so far this season.

He extends his lead at the top of the charts to two goals as his closest rivals Finnbogason and Prodell have 12 goals each.

With 10 matches before the season ends in the Scandinavian country, Waris must keep scoring to keep his opponents at bay to win the goal-king award. His performances have led to his invitation to the Black Stars.
