Netball Association President leaves for Congress in Zanzibar

Accra, July 28, GNA – Reverend Emmanuel D. Nikoi, President of the Netball Association of Ghana (NAG) is expected to leave for Zanzibar on Friday, July 27 to attend the Congress of the Confederation of Africa Netball Association (CANA).

The continental body will hold its Congress from 28-29 July in Zanzibar.

A statement from the Secretariat of NAG copied to GNA Sports, said the Congress will discuss issues including the review of the activities of the continental body over the last four years as well as the emergence of a rival group dubbed “Africa Netball”.

It said the two-day meeting will also draw up a four-year development programme for Africa to propel the African teams to participate in the World Netball Youth Championship scheduled for Glasgow, Scotland in August 2013, the Commonwealth Games Netball Competition in 2014 also in Scotland and the 2015 All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo.

Meanwhile, Reverend Nikoi will also contest his re-election as Director of Marketing and Publicity on the Executive body of the continental body.
