Anagblah to be laid to rest on July 14

Jordan Anagblah, former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will be laid to rest on Saturday, July 14 at the Osu Cemetery, Accra.

According to Joseph Anagblah, Spokesperson of the bereaved family, the final funeral rites of the departed GFA Executive Committee member will be held between July 13 and 15, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Kwesi Nyantakyi, GFA President, who led a delegation of family members on Wednesday to formally inform the Ministry of Youth and Sports on the demise of Anagblah said his outfit will handle the financial expenses for the funeral and other related activities.

“The GFA is deeply involved and we pledge to support the upkeep of his children. We have put a committee in place to ensure that proceeds from the funeral will be invested in the upkeep of his children.”

Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports assured of his outfit’s support towards ensuring a befitting funeral for the former GFA Vice President.

He said Anagblah will be missed for his ‘frank and forthright attitude’ as well as his contribution to youth football across the country.

The family presented two bottles of Schnapps to signify the official invitation to the Ministry to the funeral of the veteran football administrator.

Meanwhile, the one-week memorial will be held on Thursday, June 21 at his residence at Madina near Accra.

Anagblah passed away last Thursday, June 14 at the Trust Hospital, Accra after a short illness.**
