Boateng Blasts Referee For Zambia Defeat

Derek Boateng has launched a scathing attack on Tunisian referee Med Kordi for Ghana’s Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier defeat to Zambia on Saturday.

The Black Stars never recovered from a 15th minute goal scored by Zambia captain Christopher Katongo from inside the box.

Ghana staged a strong comeback in the second half and dominated play but could not snatch the equalizer.

After the final whistle, the Black Stars players charged on centre man Kordi pointing fingers at some of his bad calls-if had gone the way of the visitors could have turned the game on its head.

“We didn’t lose the game because we are bad. We lost the game because the last ten minutes the referee frustrated us. He was not a good referee at all,” Boateng said.

“We are trying to do anything we could but he still frustrated us.

“As you could see we had two fouls at the last minute but the referee whistled against us and showed us yellow cards.

“I can’t imagine something like this can happen. Like I said before this is football, they won and we accept our defeat and we wait for the next game. ”

Ghana’s defeat means Group D has been thrown wide open with Sudan on three points yet to play Lesotho on Sunday.
