Kyidom FC Promoted

Kyidom Football Club (F/C), Division Two campaigners have qualified to play in the forthcoming Brong-Ahafo Region Middle League in Sunyani.

The Club topped their group with 21 points, even though it lost 2-3 to Ntankoro Millionaire Stars in a last encounter of the competition played at Kintampo at the weekend.

Half time score was 1-0 in favour of the Kyidom side, with centre forward Benjamin Duffour netting in the 25th minute.

On resumption, Kwasi Ofori increased the tally to 2-0 in the 65th minute.

Millionaire Stars however immediately redeemed a goal through a penalty awarded them by referee Ibrahim Abdulai and earned another penalty just 10 minutes later.

The second penalty against Kyidom did not go down well with officials and players of Kyidom FC who protested and temporarily brought proceedings to a standstill.

When tempers calmed down barely five minutes later, Millionaire Stars utilized the second penalty to level the scores at 2-2.

The Millionaires maintained pressure on their opponents and earned the winning goal in the dying minutes of the game when outside-right Azikola hit the back of the net with a sizzling shot.

Charles Nana Baffour, Chief Executive Officer for Kyidom FC later in an interview with GNA Sports, commended coach Bawa Yaroma and the entire playing body of the Club for their efforts.

He appealed to citizens of the area, both home and abroad to contribute in cash and in kind to sustain the Club and enable it succeed at the Middle League.**
