PFAG urges Stars on ahead of Lesotho clash

The Professional Football Stars of Ghana (PFAG) has offered its unflinching support to the Black Stars ahead of the double-header 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia next month.

The leadership of the association led by its General Secretary, Anthony Baffoe, visited the players at their training session held at the Accra Sports Stadium last Friday before their departure for the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.

The Black Stars will face Lesotho on Friday, June 1 at the Baba Yara Stadium and Baffoe has urged the playing body to give off their best to ensure a resounding victory.

“On behalf of the PFAG, I want to wish you the best of luck in the upcoming two matches against Lesotho and Zambia.

“Don't forget you are Black Stars of Africa, and are not scared of any team. I'm hundred percent sure that you are going to make it,” Baffoe told the playing body.

Baffoe also tasked the players to work together and rally behind new Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah and the technical team in their quest to qualify for a third successive World Cup.

Coach Appiah, who doubles as President of the PFAG commended the Association for their support and assured of his player’s resolve and readiness to deliver.

The Stars will next play against Zambia on June 9 in Ndola.

The PFAG, founded in May 2009 has a primary aim to improve opportunities and conditions for all football players, past and present across the country.

Its board is constituted with the likes of national stars Michael Essien and Stephen Appiah as well as celebrated former players including Abedi Pele, Anthony Yeboah, Kwame Ayew, Samuel Kuffuor, Marcel Desailly and Augustine Arhinful amongst others.**
