Ghana to play Gabon in Paris

Ghana will play Nations Cup co-hosts Gabon and then Senegal in this month’s double decker friendly matches to be played in Paris, France .

The Ghana FA had originally planned to play giants Ivory Coast and the Teranga Lions but the former’s decision to face South Africa in the Mandela Cup

The Black Stars will entertain Gabon on 12 November before playing in-form Senegal three days later.

Ghana last played the Azingo Nationale in 2008 and won 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in a 2010 Fifa World Cup qualifier.

But Gabon have since come on in leaps and bounce and will play Brazil on 10 November.

They will face Niger, Morocco and Tunisia at the Nations Cup finals.

The Black Stars will be meeting Senegal for the first since 2007 when they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw during a similar exhibition match played in London.

Senegal had an impressive run in the qualifiers as they top Group E unbeaten with 16 points-five wins and a draw.

The Teranga Lions boast of some of the clinical strikers in Europe including Newcastle’s Demba Ba, Moussa Sow and Papis Demba Cisse to test the Ghana defence.
