Kotoko is not in talks for Bortey's release - Management

Kumasi, April 29, GNA - The Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC has denied and said that it is not true that the Club is planning to sign on Aduana Stars' striker Bernard Don Bortey.

"For now, it has not been discussed by management to go in for Don Bortey. We have not shown any interest in the player," Mr Ben Nti, the Administrative Manager of the Club told newsmen in Kumasi on Friday. Mr Nti said that meanwhile they have written to some local clubs on the possibility of getting some players to join the team, but that those players do not include the Aduana and former Hearts of Oak star.

He said they would not allow themselves to be carried away by such rumours but would continue to remain focused on the job of restoring Kotoko to its past all-conquering form.

The Administrative Manager also hinted of plans to contract some local coaches to understudy the Club's expatriate technical head to support him in his work.

Mr Nti appealed to the teeming supporters to lend their support to the Management to enable them transform and bring more progress to their idol Club.

The Dr K. K. Sarpong-led Management had chalked significant successes since it began work last year.
