'Aspire Football Dreams 95' wins Ciociaria Cup

Accra, June 2, GNA - 'Aspire Football Dreams 95' emerged winners of the fourth edition of the Ciociara Cup held in Italy from May 24 to May 30, 2010. The Aspire Football Dreams, represented by a team from their Senegal branch beat National Lyd Asuncion of Paraguay 2-1 in the final. Hassan Esbaiss, Senior Press Officer of the Aspire Academy said 32 teams across the world took part in the competition for players born between 1993 and 1995.

Aspire Football Dreams who were drawn in Group A began their campaign when they spanked Catania (Italy) with a 7-0 victory, beat Ido Del Liri (Italy) 4-0 and beat Bastia of France 2-0.

At the quarter final stage, they defeated Koper (Slovenia) 3-0 before easing past Hajduk Split (Croatia) by a lone goal at the semi-finals. Aspire Dreams who were adjudged the youngest team of the tournament also had Ibrahim Drame going home with the top scorer's prize after netting 12 goals in six matches.

The Aspire Football Dreams team is made up of footballers selected from the screening exercises held in Ghana, Nigeria and other parts of Africa every year.
