Ghanaian Invent A Board Game On Soccer.

The first Soccer Board Game in the World known as FRINDO SOCCER, has been designed through a combination of outstanding talent and resourcefulness of Mr John Y. Frimpong, a citizen of Agogo Ashanti Akim in Ghana, West Africa. It is a very interesting indoor game which can be played by two or more people.It is designed to arouse the interest of the youth in soccer.

Just as the game of Ludu or Oware ( a local game in Ghana), Frindo Soccer challenges the mental alertness and faculties of the players and also leads them to understand and appreciate tactical moves and inter-positional changes as in the actual game situation on the field. It has twenty players scattered on the field performing various actions with the ball. Commentary cards are packed alongside the field describing various situations on the field.

Students can use Frindo Soccer to entrtain themselves after a hard day's academic session while active players also can entertain themselves with it at training in camp. FRINDO SOCCER can be used as a coaching or teaching aid, assist teashers to introduce probability theory in Mathematics to beginners in a practical way and upgrade ones knowledge academically by using it to organize quiz in all fields eg, spelling, general knowledge, new words drill etc while playing their favourite game of soccer.

Soccer fans can also use Frindo Soccer to organise League.Gala, Knockout and any other competetion in soccer in their homes, gatherings and community centers. It can also ease tension and boredom in matrimonial homes.

With Frindo, one can solve a question like, ' Player No.9 is in possession of the ball, he wants to shoot at goal but the angle is closed and three opposing players are on him; what is the probability of passing the ball to his team mate and outwits his markers to receive a pass from the same player?' According to the designer,plans are afoot to design VIDEO and SOFTWARE version of Frindo Soccer and will also be available in the International market soon after the launching of the board game.

Meanwhile, Frindo Soccer Jerseys, T-Shirts and Caps have been designed and will be available at the launching of the Board game. The Board game is currently being produced in large quantities by a company in China to be launched in Accra, Ghana before the 2010 World Cup.
