Kevin-Prince Boateng: I Want To Play For Ghana

Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has made his intentions known to play for Ghana where his father hails from.

The youngster, who is schedule to hold talks with Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac, hopes to feature in the next Africa Nations Cup in Angola as well as win a fifth title for the West Africans.

"The African Cup of Nations is a massive tournament and we have a great chance of winning it, so there was no question of me not going,” The People quotes him as saying.

Boateng, who represented Germany at the Under 21 level, wants to use Angola 2010 as a launchpad to play in next summer’s World Cup finals in South Africa.

He added, "At my age I want to be playing at the World Cup and it would be difficult for me to get into the Germany team. My dad is from Ghana so it is a big celebration for my family.

"I just have to make sure we have got more points before I go there."

The Ghanaian hopeful has proven his worth at Fratton Park and could secure himself a place in the Black Stars squad for the 2010 showpiece event.
