150 golfers to vie for Tema Lady Captain's Prize

Tema, Jan. 28, GNA- All is set for this year's Tema Country Golf Club Lady Captain's Prize Open Championship scheduled for Tema on Saturday, January 31. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Club told GNA Sports in Accra on Wednesday that about 150 golfers were expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal event. He said the competition, which was being sponsored by Mrs Florence Etwi-Barima, Lady Captain of the Club was opened to golfers, throughout the country.

Mr Adablanu said the event, which was the first competition of the year would be played in accordance with the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club. Grace Afriyie, Esther Antwi, Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong,Esi Cobbina, Clara Price, veteran Mona Myles-Lamptey and Maria Ben-George would battle each for the prestigious trophy which has been donated by the sponsor.
