More Nyarko rumours

Alex Nyarko could be on his way back across the Channel before the year is out after finding it hard to adapt to life in the English Premiership. This morning there are renewed reports linking the Blues midfielder with a move back to France, but once again Everton have refused to confirm that Nyarko will be allowed to leave.

The one department of the side where Everton have plenty of cover is midfield and with Paul Gascoigne hoping to be available again early in the New Year and Everton looking to bring in Jason Koumas in a swap deal for Danny Cadamarteri round about the same time, Walter Smith could be ready to let one or two of his midfielders move on.

Stephen Hughes, Mark Pembridge, Niclas Alexandersson, Idan Tal, Paul Gascoigne and Thomas Gravesen all appear to have secure futures at the club, leaving Nyarko and Scott Gemmill with question marks surrounding their Everton careers.

Smith reportedly has to raise money from transfers soon to appease the clubs bankers as the overdraft facility is stretched to the limit and regardless of what the club might be saying officially, we understand Nyarko will be the sacrificial lamb in the not too distant future.
