US Embassy to host Major league baseball delegation

Accra, Jan 30, GNA - Pamela E. Bridgewater, United States Ambassador to Ghana will on Friday, February 2, host a reception in honour of a delegation of Major League Baseball at her residence in Accra on Friday, February 2.

The US Major League Baseball operates the North American professional baseball's two major leagues, the National League and American League and will be in the country to help promote the sport.

A statement signed by Zainab Mahama, Information Specialist, Public Affairs Section of the Us Embassy copied to the GNa Sports said as part of the programme of the group, baseball equipment will be donated to schools and organisations.

The statement added that the delegation will also organise baseball clinics for interested individuals in the sport and visit schools.

The members of the delegation includes Omar Minaya, General Manager of New York Mets, Bob Watson, Major League Vice President for Operations, Dave Winfield, Vice President of San Diego Padres, Dusty Baker, former Manager of San Francisco Giants and Dave Stewart, former Major League Baseball star. 30 Jan. 07
