Kotoko Beat Bofoakwa

Kumasi (ASH), June 22, - Kumasi Asante Kotoko netted thrice in the second half to beat Bofoakwa Tano 3-0 in a dull ABC Brewery Premier league match played in Kumasi today. Bofoakwa made a bold attempt after the break. They worked the ball into Kotoko's goal area but centre forward Kwasi Kyere, in a good position to score, fumbled and the ball was taken from him. Kotoko countered immediately and shot into the lead in the 55th minute through left winger Joseph Adjei with a header to a cross from the right. A minute later, Bofoakwa's right full back Abeiku Aikins was booked for foul play.

They pulled out linkman Billa Moabi in the 59th minute for Kwame Antwi to come in. Kotoko also replaced Essuman Dadzie with Abu Sadick in the 67th minute in a bid to strengthen the attack. Anor Kofi raised Kotoko's tally to two in the 68th minute with a classic shot from a free kick about 25 metres from goal. Bofoakwa decided to strengthen their defence and substituted attacking midfielder Ben Kusi with Papa Yaw, while Kotoko brought in Felix Adu Boahen for veteran Emmanuel Ampiah in the 74th minute. The changes benefited Kotoko, who made it 3-0 in the 88th minute through Joseph Adjei with a header from attacking midfielder Nobel Tadika's cross. MORE
