Accra, Nov. 18, GNA - Legon Hall of University of Ghana retained the Cowbell/TTB Athletics Championship trophy of the University when they scored 123 points to win this year's event held at the Legon athletics oval on Friday.
They were followed by Commonwealth Hall with 86 points, Akuafo Hall placed third with 84 points, while Mensah Sarbah Hall took the fourth position with 62 points.
In the Ladies encounter, Volta Hall also defended their title by winning the event with 105 points. Akuafo Hall followed at second position with 89 points with Sarbah Hall placing third with 81 points while Legon Hall took the fourth position with 59 points.
The two-day event was jointly sponsored by Promasidor Ghana Limited and The Trust Bank.
Mr Aliusus Denkabe, President of the Ghana University's Sports Association (GUSA), commended the participants for the level of sportsmanship exhibited throughout the event and urged them to continue with such behaviour.
He said the aim of the event was to unearth talents to represent the University at the forthcoming West African University Games and the Ghana Universities Sports Association Games all scheduled for February and March next year.
Mr Inusah Mohammed, Deputy Events and Promotions Manager of Promasidor Ghana Limited gave the assurance that his company would continue to support the University in its quest to unearth talents for the nation as well as the University.
