Cape Coast, July 4, GNA - Jubilee House at the week-end retained the Ackah Yensu Cup when they trounced Elliot House 5-2 in the finals of the 2006 Adisadel College Inter-Houses soccer championship. The winner and runners-up were presented with Brown Gold cocoa powder and the outstanding players, cash prizes, respectively by Hords Limited, producers of the cocoa product and Dr Paul Poku, a businessman and a past student of the College.
Ten houses took part in the competition which was sponsored by Hords Limited and Dr Poku.
The headmaster, Mr Herbert Graham, commended the students for their sportsmanship and appealed to them to also endeavour to take their studies seriously.
During the final match, Jubilee House led 2-0 at half-time and on resumption of the second half they increased their tally to 3-0 through outside left Godwin Acquah in the 46th minute.
Elliot House managed to score two quick goals through Richard Tagoe and Frank Koomson to bring the scores to 3-2, but the Jubilee boys resumed control of their authority in the game when they scored two more goals to bring the final scores to 5-2 in their favour. The Cup was donated by the late Mr Ackah Yensu, an old boy of the school and a former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA.) 04 July 06
