Ex-Ghana striker, Anthony Yeboah, now a golfer, was denied victory by Joshua Armah in the July edition of Ashfoam Monthly Golf Medal Tournament.

Joshua Armah, with a 68net score, pipped the former footballer, who managed a 69 net score, to lift up the trophy at stake on Saturday.

Chris Sarfo Kumah, came third with a score of 71 net, in a tournament which was played on the greens of the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi.

In the ladies edition, Felicity Okyei Gyeabuor won via countback after she pegged at a score of 77 net with Constance Awuni.

The Ashfoam Monthly Medal Tournament was open to only members of the Royal Golf Club, secretary of the club, Mark Asiamah, said.

He said the tournament was geared towards helping to reduce the participants’ handicap.

Mr. Asiamah indicated that 40 golfers took part in the tournament, and that he was highly impressed by the patronage.

He expressed delight about the high level of play exhibited by the golfers on parade, urging the public to patronize golf.

He flatly debunked assertions that golf was a sport for the elite in society, adding that it has so many health benefits.
