The Black Stars of Ghana will begin non-residential training at the Accra Sports Stadium today, Wednesday, May 31, ahead of their 2019 Nations Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.

Coach Kwesi Appiah is hoping to put the players through their paces early in Accra before they travel to Kumasi on Monday ahead of the game. Appiah has shaken up the composition of the squad with many new faces expected at training.

There would, however, be the usual suspects and familiar faces including Asamoah Gyan and the Ayew brothers. The session will be the first time Appiah is meeting up with the team after he returned to the role of head coach of the Stars.

It will also be the first official session with the new backroom staff which includes Ibrahim Tanko, one of the assistant coaches. The team will travel two weeks later to the United States of America, where it will face Mexico in Houston, Texas on June 28 and the Stars and Stripes in Connecticut on July 1.
