Telenovelas have become the staple diet for mainly women and children in the country. Our women watch it even in Europe and North America. The success of a country depends largely on how educated it's women are. To have women and children addicted to this narcotic of programs should be a concern to everyone especially the government. We are generally a lazy breed of humans, but to have these tv series further dull the little intellect we have left would be tantamount to a self-inflicted genocide. We might as well close shop.

A move in the right direction. I hv a torrid time in the house trying to stop my kids from watching these useless telenovelas which only go to brainwash our children. And it's worse if their mom is the lead watcher!

Our Film and ART sector should produce programs from our culture in similar fashion to create TV and show worthy of our values.
Why is it that we don't notice these foreign shows are meant for their culture and to improve their way of life. WE have a culture which is beautiful and rewarding if we stop adopting from WAYS. They don't help us. You ask why we don't appreciate made in Ghana products? This is exactly the answer. Use the TV to direct our focus. Use the TV to brainwash our own.

The President just said we should not follow the World Bank education prescription for our development. This is true because their prescriptions misdirect us. Please Ghanaians, understand these shows or things from foreign countries are wrong for us. Historians need to dig back further into our life and culture for foundation as we traverse the technology world.
