This ban on advertising by professionals is antiquated and has been scrapped even in England which we copied the ban from. As of 1986, the Law Society of England and Wales permits lawyer advertising. The US scrapped the ban in 1977 when the Supreme Court ruled in 1977 than the ban was as unconstitutional infringement on Bate's freedom of commercial speech. Why is Ghana always so far behind the times. This ban on professional advertising, like the law on attempted suicide- which we also copied from England- must be scrapped from our books and dumped into the dustbin of history. I encourage Mr. Xavier Sosu to sue to enforce his right to free commercial speech and to overturn his suspension.

Perhaps putting up photographs of his clients without permission is inappropriate, but outlining cases his firm has been involved in, surely, isn't criminal?
