Today he also calls himself an ex President. Kuffour a disgrace to Ghana. Indeed whilst some children were officially being educated under the trees Kuffour was busy putting up his Hotel under Gezell influence to hide away his money. No one in their right mind we give any respect to Kuffour . Why is he not wearing his golden award every where he goes? Don't jump into conclusions who will even care to listen to someone like you?

Kufuor pay-off shocks Ghanai
Ghana's outgoing President John Kufuor
John Kufuor stood down after serving two terms
Ghanaians have criticised plans to give former President John Kufuor a massive retirement package, including six chauffeur-driven cars and two houses.
The benefits, which also include a lump-sum thought to be worth $400,000, were approved on Mr Kufuor's last day in office earlier this month.
The new parliamentary majority leader said it was embarrassing that MPs had taken the decision behind closed doors.
But another MP said it would prevent leaders clinging on to power.
One of Mr Kufuor's allies told the BBC that the measures had not yet been signed into law and so the new administration was free to amend them if they so wished.
'Bankrupt'
The BBC's David Amanor in the capital, Accra, says people respect their former presidents but see the proposed package as extravagant, if not excessive.
"We have a lot of problems in the country - water problems, light problems," one man told him.
Former President Jerry Rawlings.
"Two cars with security is OK. But not five [sic] cars. The country will go bankrupt," he said.
The six cars can be replaced every four years and the former president can pick any two houses.
The package also includes a budget for entertaining, security and a foreign holiday each year.
Alban Bagbin, the leader of the parliamentary majority, told the BBC that he had not even known that a committee of MPs was meeting to discuss the measures, which had not been debated, bypassing normal parliamentary procedure.
Former President Jerry Rawlings could also benefit from the package but he told the BBC that he had told the committee to "get lost" when they approached him.
"I've lived with the little accorded to me all this time. I told them to get lost.
"You're not going to entice me with that grandiose rubbish designed for Kufuor."
Mr Rawlings founded the National Democratic Congress (NDC), whose candidate John Atta Mills narrowly defeated Nana Akufo-Addo from Mr Kufuor's New Patriotic Party after a run-off.
Mr Kufuor stood down after serving the maximum two terms.
At the weekend, the government said the outgoing administration had exceeded its budget sevenfold, leaving the country "broke", reports Reuters news agency.
The election was relatively peaceful despite the narrow margin of victory and was praised as setting an example for other African countries.

Mr former president, by your thinking, it' should mean that if we can quantify in monetary terms what a person bring to his or her job, so that that person can be paid accordingly??
In the Public service, and Governmental circles, is any other person brings more to the national Kitty that the person who appoints them? That means if the President who put you in a place on His behalf is by law limited to certain amount of payment, how is it possible that the representative, can take for him/herself far more the the president?
Second: Hiw much does a human live cost? How much does your life cost? So for all the Doctors and Nurses and health care personnel who toil day and night to maintain human life, can they be paid as a human life is worth?
The Cocobod is not a private entity. Just as the PResident Nana Addo said, if you want more money than service to nation, the private sector is where you belong. In the private sector, there is no limitation to what the owners can earn after making do with their tax obligations.
Come again , mR former President.

Folks why won't the hungry take to galamsey? The privileged ones are raping the national coffers all in the name of serving the nation (under the disguise of party politics).
If Opuni really deserves this colossal sum, as the ex president wants us to believe, my question to readers (including Kufour) how Opuni's performance in office has uplifted the lives of millions of the downtrodden?
I blame Mahama too for allowing such a n injustice to be perpetuated on Ghana.
And folks, this is just his salary. What we haven't been told is the other perks that came with his position.

What nonsense is this from a former president? There is no way such a salary to anyone in the ghana civil service can be justified. Why was the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission created? Anyone who is not worried about this outrageous salary of this Cocobod CEO is rather insensitive to the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian. When we have old pensioners who take 300 ghc per month, we are preparing them to die. What is their crime? Because they happen not to be employees of Cocobod. President Kuffour should not support that as he was the brain behind FWSC. Are some public servants different? What does the constitution say? Equality before the law.

After Ghana produced over a million metric tonnes of cocoa under the competent Kufuor administration, production strayed and started decreasing. The last time it was reported, the total metric tonnes had reduced to less than 750,000 and still falling.
Smuggling of the commodity had increased with the CEO Opuni even fingered in the act by his own workers. Bonuses due cocoa farmers had become problematic.
As the price of the commodity was increasing on the international market, the price paid the farmer for his produce was dwindling or stagnant in real terms.
Meanwhile the CEO's salary was soaring and rising like a helium balloon and floating so far up in the skies.
Notwithstanding all that, contracts were being signed shortchanging the Ghanaian taxpayer and benefiting the CEO, John Mahama, his family and cronies.
It is fair to say that the brouhaha surrounding COCOBOD since Opuni started shredding documents at 1am in the night is justified. When the guy was in overalls strutting around the accident and emergency unit of KATH hospital, one would never have expected that this was how his mind worked, sad.
