Why should there be an assault at all? Couldn't. The Soldiers arrest the 1st offender to the police station? The journalist wouldn't have had anything to film if the soldiers have been a bit more sensible. Its as if we provide uniform to a group of people to assault the other group in the society. This would not happen in UK of USA where Soldiers have more important things to do.

why practice DEMOCRACY! Akuffo Addo must frown & speak on military BRUTALITY. If not UN meeting he'll be asked by foreign journalists for him to look as a weaker LEADER.

People ought to know their rights. Soldiers have no arresting powers and therefore cannot detain or command a civilian to followed them to the barracks. The journalist should not have obeyed the soldier's order, because army personnel do not have police powers to make an arrest. It is incumbent on the army chief to educate his soldiers about their rights and responsibilities in a democratic society. Any soldier found to bully and illegally detain a civilian should be severely punished with the victim bringing a kidnapping case against the soldier.
