According to a story attributed to the NDC MP for Asunafo South district, the NPP plagiarized the NDC’s 2016 budget. In his statement " Paragraph 273 of the 2017 budget says principally that the government has allocated GH¢2.04 million for the procurement of five million improved coffee planting seedlings for free distribution to coffee farmers while in the 2016 budget, paragraph 405 also talked about government allocating GH¢2.0 million for the procurement of two million improved coffee planting seedlings for free distribution to coffee farmers."
Now divide NPP's GHC2.04 Million by 5 million seedlings and the answer is GHC 0.40 per coffee seedling. Then divide NDC's GHC 2,0 Million by 2 Million seedlings and the answer is GHC 1.00 per coffee seedling. Now the question is, Who is stealing from who. I don't really know the university that trained these NDC guys. Universities in Ghana are indeed useless.

If you compare the salaries of some advanced countries as opposed to other professions, it is quite low and so serving in gov't is premised on other motivations not because of remuneration.
The first order of business is to cut the salaries and streamline the perks and make corruption punishable by the death penalty and you are on the true course of rapid development with ministers of conviction ready to serve to improve the lives of the citizenry and for the public good.

This advise is the most myopic coming from a Lecturer. According to the lecturer, high emoluments for MPs will reduce their penchant for bribery and corruption. What the Lecturer does not know is that the greed of our politicians are inelastic and no amount of payment could stretch their thievery to a level of saturation. Give politicians all the rivers in Ghana; they will ask for the sea.

At this juncture we should allow the President to do what he feels is the right thing. I strongly feel cutting Ministers' salaries can't encourage corruption. All those Ministers have to do is "cut their coats according to their sizes." A word to the Political Scientist: Are you of the view that those politicians who are involved in corruption is due to salary issue?

Some of these so-called political scientists are just lunatic idiots seeking undeserved attention. Did Nana Addo ever say that he will reduce the perks of his ministers because his government is large? Where from this one too. Being a political science lecturer does not make you an expert in governance. These self-glorifying attention seekers must for once shut up and give us a break.
