That position is to be occupied by retired senior citizens of valour (in terms of taking non-partisan decisions under pressure from any government), with integrity and above all WISDOM freely willing to serve their country out of love!

It is not supposed to be another gravy train for pensioners with NOTHING to offer OUR DEAR nation.

At least, the required provisions for such a position should be being giving allowances for fuel and other things. After all, how many times are they called upon to do anything?

OH! GHANA! Another wastage of our hard earned currency.

That money should go to poor old people in the villages of every district, every month. Every little helps.

My candid opinion is that as nation we need to have a second look at the salaries drawn by the legislators, members of the Council of State, the ministers and the President.

I think that will urge them to work towards the realisation of an economy that will defuse the tension of workers always agitating for higher wages. That would obviously cascade down in the civil and public sectors.

I suggest they slash by half.
