ASAP,abolish it,it is a useless entity full of ancient people,who in his right mind will be keeping such an entity which has outlived its usefulness,it has never been useful anyway.

Just imagine a 92 year old from Ashanti region is reportedly contesting to become a member of that useless council,what advice will 92 year old give to a president.

This council is one of the many institutions that need to be erased. I think we must institute our Ghanaian fundamental Democracy. Upon this I suggest the formation of a Presidential council that would comprise a representative from each region, independent from every political party and act as the controller of our constitution or the father of Ghana. I see our present governance as the imitation of American style which we dare not because, majority of us are unable to read or write, depend on hearsay and shout at the top of their voices. The few fortunate ones who read capitalize on that privilege to dupe the nation.

SOME DUTIES OF THAT COUNCIL: The outcome of our voting will be Prime-Minister and other ministers. The Presidential council will give them the green-light to work. The council shall reserve the power to call the Prime-Minister (Within the day's 24 hrs) for consultations on what ever is seen to be going wrong. In case there is any coup (Which I don't hope for) the P.C. shall have to nullify it and should be accepted internationally. There can be many more points for discussion on this if people find interest in it. This winner takes all system has been tried since 1957 but has not given any satisfied result to Ghana. It always appears as we are confused. We need to change it for something more practical to all.

I agre with with you 100% for the abolishing of the council of state. The council of state do not enjoy independent mandate it deserves as enshrined by the 1992 constitution. It's just exist because the 1992 constitution has given birth to it. It is some times very irritating when such a powerful institution like this (C. O. S) offers divine counselling to the president and cabinet but we see the executive arm of goverment doing different things all together.We shall be saved by divine intervention by all means. Ghana will not waste any funds on useless cost draining councils with nothing to produce any more. Lets focus on Railways networks in the country instead as more cash in needed in this department.

The President was given all the power to appoint DCEs , fire CEOs and appoint boards what does Council of State do. Rather give money to districts and decentralise administration and delivery of services in Ghana.

Duplication of roles has been the order of the day,our president is a seasoned lawyer and also worked with very intelligent senior lawyers,I believe the issue of the council of state must be looked into,it's a useless institution in my estimation and I couldn't agree more with the this proposal to Scrab the council of state.Lately we all saw decisions taken by John mahama with advice from the then council of state,the latest being last minute appointments and Montie3,such a council can not be taken seriously.More so if it's filled with party members who turn out to serve the interest of the president and party instead of the state,really I think it should and must be scrab,the government already ve the attorney general who advises government on all legal matters,if it's about chieftency matters the national house of Chiefs is there to advise so what re they there to advise?this re retire members of society who ve already given their best and just want to earn some money and nothing else otherwise they themselves know it's just a duplication that should be Scrabs going forward.Look one day some dead bodies ll be ex summed and punished if we don't stop this greedy attitude.....people re suffering,we don't even ve railway from Accra to pagan and we don't care,we don't even know the benefits it ll bring us as a state,the thinking of our leaders is just like black star players,we can never succeed with this mentality,Ghana is a useless country.Nana Addo should get to work,he has no time,he should initiate a railway to the north by all means.
