Those with long memories like me see that some of Fred's comments are reminders to the NPP of it's 2000 election campaign promises. Yes, thet is exactly what they promised; to construct high rise buildings in the Zongos, and to change the face of the Zongos drastically. Not only that, they promised to upgrade our local chopbars into restaurants, to make the Odaw Drain lean like the canals in London and Amsterdam and make the whole stretch alon the Korle Lagoon a touristic attraction with Hotels and Watersports facilities. The one spearheading these promises was the late Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, that is why he was put in charge of the Ministry of Tourism and Beautification of the Capital City. For all these promises and more, like a railroad from Accra to Paga into Burkina Fasso, I voted at that time for the positive change, which never came. The Zongos remained the same, no high rise buildings....the rest we know. So, why do you insult Fred when he repeats NPP's own promises so as to remind them of them. But, I may understand why Fred's detractors are inslting him...he is too sarcastic!! Well, that is his style!

A Bank of Ghana (BoG) summary of Economic and Financial Data says Ghana’s total public debt has hit Gh¢119.9 billion as against the latest figure of 110 billion Cedis released in July 2016.

Out of this, total external debt amounted to 66 billion Cedis and domestic debt was 53.9 billion Cedis, of the debt stock.
