Was she the Queen of Ghana, it's just getting appalling. Fine with President going there, now a whole Parliament? Aba, waste of tax payers money on a dead body

indeed! was the same question i was going to ask. it's about time the ghanaian people draw the line: why all this attention to the asante people? ghana comprises a lot more other tribes, and certainly not made up of the asnates alone. THE OFFICE HOLDER OF PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA HAS TO STOP PAYING 'HOMAGE' TO THE ASANTE PEOPLE; GHANA IS A REPUBLIC, AND NOT A MONARCHY OR A KINGDOM!! WHY MUST A WHOLE PARLIAMENT USE PRECIOUS TIME TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THE QUEEN MOTHER OF ONE TRIBE IN THE COUNRTY? LET THE ASANTE PEOPLE BURY THEIR DEAD, AS DO OTHER TRIBES. GHANA IS NOT THE ASANTEMAN, AND THE ASANTEMAN IS ALL BUT ONE SINGLE TRIBE WITHIN THE NATION, THEY ARE NOT GHANA. THE COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON SO MANY MORE OTHER TRIBES BESIDES THE ASANTE!!

Dear Rene,
A great deal of attention is being paid to this lady because she was the queen of the most populous and most dominant ethnic group in Ghana. Even in the UK where you live, when they study diversity, they usually study the history and culture of the Asantes. They also study the history of the Asantes in other countries like the U.S.A. Don't be upset about it, just celebrate the fact that an ethnic group with an illustrious history is based in your country. In addition, I personally think that all the queens of the various ethnic groups should be given this type of attention. Usually it is the men who get all the attention so why can't a woman also get the same kind of attention? Let's celebrate our culture irrespective of the region of Ghana it comes from.
