This NPP ideology that is rearing its ugly head under the Nana Akufo-Addo administration should be put to a stop right now. This is an idea that is coming from the moronic NPP chapter in the USA particularly those in the NY area. This is an idea taken out the USA Republican party playboy on using the power to redraw district boundaries that gives the party a better chance of winning elections or to retain seats. So here we are the NPP wants to divide the Volta region, an NDC stronghold, and other regions where the NDC has traditionally been successful.
This is not only shameful and evil but will lead to a shameful composition of members in Ghana's parliament and eventually to chaotic and underdevelopment in most places in Ghana. Those who seem to think God was involved in the 2016 elections in Ghana should bow their heads down in shame because God could never be cowardly, conniving and evil; only ungodly cretins can do what is about to go down if true Ghanaians fail to stand up to evil.
Should the next NDC administration then create more districts or merge districts to create regions? Better yet what if an administration should float an idea to make regions out of every 10,000 people in any given area?

Development is not about size of geography , but it's been shown that the less complex a unit the better managers can get their arms around it. Tribalism is the bane of Africa's underdevelopment. Some of us who have been lucky to live in other societies are excited about the devolution of political power from Accra to the Regions and Districts and the potential of accelerating Ghana's development. The current hybrid of American and Westminster form of governance that is Accra driven is a real limitation on our development. We need a system of governance where power is bottom up and not top down for faster development.
Yeah, talking abou better transpiration in the Volta Region; how does a $250 million Airport at HO helps the people of Buem and Karachi or Ketu? Yet, the intellectual supremacist in Accra deemed that proper instruct its reality while poverty reigns in many parts of the region.

Ashanti region was previously divided to create Brong/Ahafo region. As a matter of fact, the Ahafos were divided into two with part of them made to join the Brongs to form the Brong/Ahafo region whilst some remained in Ashanti region.
