The NDC equally snubbed Dagombas until Haruna Iddrissu mobilized Dagomba youth to go on demonstration before he was given cabinet appointment. Currently, in the political arena in Ghana, Dagombas are no force to contend with because they have decided to put all their eggs in NDC basket. It is serious swing regions like the Central, B/A, Greater Accra and now Volta Regions that politicians fear. Dagombas must begin to learn like their Voltarian counterparts.

Sonu comes from the usual Hausa greetings s3nu. S3nu in Hausa means well done. So when you hear a Hausa saying 's3nu d3 zua' they are only telling you well done for coming(welcome). S3nu d3 kok3ri means well done for the effort(ayeeko in twi). So if the Ga, in trying to mimic s3nu, say sonu I don't think it is an insult. The Yoruba will also say 3l33 to wit well done and Alata means seller of pepper and other vegetables and so Yorubas in Ghana may have gotten that name from their active engagement in trading across Ghana. Remember Makola is a Yoruba word. A tribal name like Frafra was derived from Gruni greetings. History indeed has a lot to teach us but unfortunately Mahama used his history background to steal from Ghanaians.

Dagombas should blame themselfs for not getting people high up there in the Npp to take up cabinet positions in the new administration,we ll recall that after the death of our Overload the Adani who suspected the government had a hand in it decided to resign from the party to join the NDC,one such example was prof.Wayo Sani who was a senior member at the time.Now as we speak most of the Dagombas in the Npp now re Abudus so re we saying the Npp should appoint them to high offices like we saw in the past for them to group and use to attack Adani,s again?untill a lasting solution is found in this chieftency dispute,it ll be prudent to leave both sides out for now.Now I'm happy we as Dagombas re biggining to realize that we re lacking behind with this Abudu/Adani thing and must rather put our differences behind us and work towards our developments as a people.Cant we see that we ve allow politicians to use us and dump us?its because they know we re divided,the NDC came with all kinds of promises that they actually know the killers of Ya-Naa and needed power to deal with it but for 8 years what did we see?Thank God Nana Addo did not promise of having any prove of anybody who murded our late king but promised to find a lasting peace in the matter so Untill that's done,everyone should wait and not be agitating for appointments for dagombers that ll give advantage to anybody to forment trouble.
