There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults.This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States, Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

In a weeks time the dust will settle and Ghanaians can heave a significant of relief and carry on with their normal lives. Things are not likely to change for a vast majority. Those who use to wake up early to go to work would continue to do so. Those who banked their hopes on political parties will be disappointed because there are not enough positions to reward every foot soldier besides more qualified persons would show up. So was there any need to invest all our hopes on the outcome of these elections? Not at all. There are only a few real winners and for the majority it has been a season of wastage of precious time and energy. The losers would always be in the minority. There is not just enough resources to satisfy everybody at the same time. But let us put aside politics after Dec 7 for at least three years and concentrate on real work like the Americans.

I think if pools are right way of winning election, then mahama will win. In the usa and Britain all the pools went to favor the loosing side.the same in Ghana only one pool give the NDC the win.
