The spirit of the club went down drastically during last football season, but word of caution, if care is not taken n a new management n Directors appointed in earliest, the club will sink more, the reason being that the old management has contacted new players who are yet to be signed for the coming season n they are now out, therefore Otumfour should appoint people to take over to avoid the club going trophyless again. Nana act now, as the new season staRTS in December, 2016.

The other day, one of the most usual Kotoko 'failed days', not too long ago, every one of us was wondering as to what had become of our darling team.
Years and years after we have enjoyed all the glorifying days, Kotoko was the reason most of us loved, shouted and played the sport.

It wasn't by accident or design.
I had purposely grown up playing football. I was closed to joining Kotoko as Opoku Afriyie was my team mate in a second tier club Kufour Stars (owned by the then Ministerial Secretary) based in Akropong-Ashanti.

Growing up, the matter of Kotoko being "The Otumfour's Own Club".
To wit: "The owner of Asante Kotoko" had given me many reasons to question myself as to how?

I had doubted myself based on the fact that, there had been two previous Asantehenes before the current one whose reign I participated and showed allegiance to but never realized they existed in the football world like the current one is doing.
Would someone therefore help educate me on this subject as to whether or not the Asantehene was, and or is the founder and owner of my darling 'Kum Apem beba' club. OR a chief patron/ceremonial/figure Head.

By or intent and purposes,AM MADE TO KNOW "Otumfour De Asantehene", no doubt, owns the club. Take it or leave it.

Let me toss things around this way.Traditionally, teams were owned by individual responsible people in the community whose 'cash flow' was enormous that had tributaries that swept away young folks into the colts system that grew bigger into a modern day football club. Such an owner was regarded as 'Osikani'- man of influence,affluence, valour and power.

By the above definition, it could be granted that the ownership of the club is hereditary. And as custom of the land demands, any Asantehene who ascends the throne becomes 'an automatic custodian of TeamKotoko whose top hierarchy is dear and paramount to the Ashanti nation.

Consequently, it would be disheartening, as would be quite condescending to learn that the management could go as far as years without winning any soccer diadem. Could go for months without paying players salaries. Have existed for years without the clubs own stadium/ training pitches. Unable to grab top notch players to win laurels for the club.

Am not convince that in spite of the owner being the richest in the Kingdom his club Kotoko cannot boast of being a dominant team in Africa.

What is Nana doing with all the money bestowed on him. He has the riches that will last him and immediate family a life time. What is he preserving the money for if not to lavish it on development projects in the kingdom, aleast making Kotoko better than any other team in Ghana.

It is easy. Far easy for Nana to polish Kotoko without a sweat of the kingdom's money.
With the Kingdom's money-: Nana,stop being stingy with the kingdom's resources.
With free fall of our well manageable
resources handled by qualified entrepreneurs Nana can transform Kotoko into a big company. Should employ and pay persons of academic know-hows: From executive Director, right down to the messenger, not to talk about ball boys, all must be invested to revamp/recoup our former top glory.

Mpaninfo says: 'Uneasy lies the head of a king'.
If you cannot raise Kotoko standards to that which obtains in the EPL, Nana must as well cease to be the owner of the club."Ade3 nny3 wof3 anaa?" Or just don't know what to do with money?
Nana do something extraordinary for the club, for "time and tide waits for no man". Share your enormous wisdom with your subjects. For it appears you care just a little.
Nana lets move ahead of time, lest we fumble.You have the greatest minds in your kingdom you have become the envy of your peers. How are thy mighty fallen?
