  Sunon Asogli is a Private Power Producer who gets paid in dollars for its power deliveries. Why can't Asogli buy gas directly from WAPCo? Why does VRA have to assume the gas supply liabilities for Asogli when Asogli is the user of most of the Gas meant for VRA? VRA does not have to buy gas for Asogli. Asogli should be made to sign direct gas supply agreements with WAPCo and pay for its gas uses to WAPCo directly. VRA should stay out of that equation.
  
  The minster should cut the crap and ensure that the government agencies pay ECG for the electricity they use. So that ECG can also pay VRA and Asogli who provide the bulk electricity. Then VRA and Asogli can pay for their gas supplies without recourse to government for support.
  
  The ball stops with the government, whose agencies refuse to pay for power use. And who continues to interfere with ECG operations. The ECG CE who was making progress in addressing the problem of high losses was dismissed for political reasons. How then do you expect the utility to be viable. Stop the dirty politics and treat important state institutions as entities that need to be commercially viable otherwise the mess will continue unabated.
