The decision as to whether the statue should come a crunch and l believe strongly. that it is that of the Government that should hold sway.In about thirty years time,all those Lecturers clamouring for the removal of the statue would have left the University but Ghana"s relationship with India would have been damaged forever. Even the funds for the building of Flagstaff house was provided by the Indian Government. So we have a cup in one hand collecting money from the Indian Government and a pick -axe in the other to pull down the statue of the one they consider to be at the heart of their nationhood.How can we be so callous!

The question is should we be honouring people who make such remarks about us . If the Indians don't understand why we don't want to do so they go fuck themselves.
If we cannot respect ourselves why should anybody else respect us. Because of aid we should accept any kind of shit thrown our way when we have more natural resources than the Indians and they even have more poor people.

The evidence presented in this book are overwhelming and well-documented. The sad part of it all is that Nelson Mandela played a role in these lies about Gandhi being lover of black people.

The authors of the afore-referenced demolish the kinds of revisionist arguments the likes of Mandela advanced in favor of Gandhi.

I strongly believe Gandhi's granddaughter may not have read the book herself.

A considerable portion of the evidence comes from Gandhi himself. I say this because I have a copy of the book sitting by my desk as of this writing.

Well, what more can I say? Let the people decide whether the statue stays or leaves.

Advise your government to give you permission to remove it. The Ghana government of course can not tell you to remove it. That will be a " loss of face". One may ask what was the real purpose for erecting the statute at the UG campus? Is it to foster friendship between the peoples of Ghana and India? Or to promote non violence as a value and behavior for conflict resolution? Then the statute belongs to the Kofi Anann center or some Libriary or institute established by India. The statute is in the wrong place. Has the enmbassy seen any Statute on the campus.? People are saying Africans heros are more deserving on that campus even we dismiss the racial issue. Please make a face saving move by removing the statute. A University campus in Africa is the wrong place to place your Hindu hero. Will Mandela , Nkrumah or Martin Luther King statues be welcomed on the campuses of any Indian premier University? Be sensitive to the feelings of those who protest . It is real!!!! Now,if an Ethiopian suddenly comes across a book which claims that after all Kwame Nkrumah whilst studying in the US was informing the US Government about activities of his fellow Blacks ,do you think this should warrant the pulling down of the statue? Now was his aversion against Blacks a policy that he pursued? When Ronald Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter to become America's President, most Blacks in the US felt uncomfortable because of his attitude but in the end, he was the one who instituted the National holiday for Martin Luther King.So if Gandhi made some unsavory remarks about Blacks as a 24 year old upon his arrival from India, we should not use that to judge him. The AU is an African continental body; it does not belong to Ethiopia, and so an Ethiopian cannot kick against Nkrumah's statue having been erected infront of the AU building. More so, Nkrumah was a freedom fighetr, who fought for the LIBERATION of the African continent. Moreso, Nkrumah was the leader of the founding fathers of the OAU. You cannot compare Mahatma Ghandi to Kwame Nkrumah so long as Africa is concerned. Ghandi was an unrepentant racist, who displayed disdain towards the black race till the end. Have we finished erecting the statues of our own heroes such that we can afford to erect those of foreigners who demonstrated unbriddled hatred towards us? Or you think Ghana and Africa don't have heroes who should be honoured? Some Ghanaian/African mentality!
