Talk is cheap! How many mechanised farms does Otabil own? And who says farming doesn't require talents so talented youth shouldn't go in there? And he has no idea that planting and sowing is also mechanised? As well as marketing of every product also requires brains or talents and is a profession. Again I will say talk is cheap and if people will congregate daily or weekly to contribute millions of cedis freely to me without me sweating under the hot tropical sun, I will talk in the same way and more!

He pulls the car over to the side of the road and notices that the farmer is just standing there, doing nothing, looking at nothing. The man gets out of the car, walks all the way out to the farmer and asks him, "Ah excuse me mister, but what are you doing?" The farmer replies, "I'm trying to win a Nobel Prize." "How?" asks the man, puzzled. "Well, I heard they give the Nobel Prize . . . to people who are out standing in their field."

Exactly, brain at work. These are minds that we need to structure Ghana. Pastor , thank God for your life and putting up that college to impact ideas to our students. We get public officers whose trips are paid business class, hotels paid just to get a glimpse of ideas and they return to sit on it, Ghana suffers. Mr Minister. Mr Senior public servant, did u see how landscaping beautifies the countries, all you do is to stand by them and take pictures. Did u think the landscaping was hoes and cutlasses. It is about time a whole program or university to train students in that . Then education of keeping your frontage green should be taught and enforced. Every community should promote green and annual award to the best lawn frontage should be instituted. It is about time Ghana. A whole beautification ministry was set up. Where is the continuation of zoom lion. At least I saw a bit of green . Let's all sit up and make our country beautiful. My second point is the V8 and V6 for the MPs... look u can't sit in Accra and drive these huge cars. There is a bit of sense if they are given to those up country with a distance and bad roads. If an MP thinks about his constituents, then I will be waiting for a day a group of them will come up to say that instead of buying a v8 we opt for a small car and use the cash to purchase a fire or rescue truck for an area... so then residents in ofankor, amasaman, Taifa.. will have their own community fire and rescue dept... they will not wait to call fireman from Makola station and with all the pump and noise and traffic they get there and nothing is done bcos ... to be continued

Mensa Otabil doesn't seem to understand that there is something called poverty, and that there will always be poverty till the end of time. Thus, those humble people who live in contentment to what God has given them by using hoes and cutlasses to feed themselves and contribute their bit to feeding the nation should not be insulted by people whose only effort in life was to have used the name of God, feed on the gullibility of people genuinely seeking salvation, to become rich. Jesus came for the last soul, lived and shared with the poor, and was said to have died for them. Today, Otabil lives in opulence at the most expensive parts of Accra, rides in very expensive vehicles, has his family well-attended care off, believes in property owning and prosperity evangelism: thus, it is no surprise that he has the effontry to spew out garbage and insult us anytime he mounts the pulpit. Poverty was there with Adam, Abraham all through to Jesus, and will remain with us till the day of judgement. It is how we deal with it that will show on humanity.

IS IT NOT SAD AFFAIR TO HAVE MANY EDUCATED AGRICULTURALISTS WITB DEGREES AND PHD TITLES IDLING AT THE THE MINISTRY OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE, REGIONAL AND DISTRICT OFFICES FOR NON PRODUCTIVE WORK AND FOR THE NATION TO BE FED BY ILLITERATE PEASANT FARMERS.
WHAT IS EVEN SHAMEFUL, THESE EDUCATED FOLKS AT THE MINISTRY,DO ALWAYS PREACH OF MODERNISING AGRICULTURE FORGETTING TO KNOW, PEAASNT FARMERS CONTINUE TO USE HOE AND CUTLAS AT THE FARMING SECTOR.
WITH ALL THESE PRIMITIVE PRACTICES, THAT CANNOT INCREASE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY,MANY INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS POUR INTO THE COUNTRY TO TELL THE OFFICIALS AT THE MINISTRY OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE OF THEIR INTEREST TO MODERNISE THE FARMING SECTOR, FULLY KNOWING THAT, AGRICULTURAL TRAINING IS THE KEY TO AGRICULTURAL AND AGRO INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT.
ARE THEY NOT HOPELESS AND USELESS PEOPLE ON EARTH.
SAD INDEED,
IT IS A PITY WE STILL DO NOT KNOW WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE ARE GOING IN THE 21st CENTURY.

DESPITE HIS STAND ON MANY POLITICAL ISSUES IN THE COUNTRY, OSOFO OTABILL IS RIGHT FOR THIS NOTE ON PRIMITIVE FARMING IN GHANA
WHY IS THE COUNTRY STILL BACKWARD IN AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT AT THE FARMING SECTOR, IT IS BACUSE INSUFFICENT LEVEL OF TRAINING, AND KNOWLEDGE IN MIDDLE LEVEL PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AS ARTISAN AND TECHNICIAN FARMERS AT THE FARMING SECTOR.
IT IS ALSO INVESTMENT IN INNOVATION. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN FOOD PRODUCTION HAVE TO BE THE MOST STRATEGIC AND KEY INTERVENTIONS STRATEGIES IN ARRESTING THE PRIMITIVE SITUATION AT THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR IN GHANA .
IN SUM THERE IS ASERIOUS GAP IN THE IN THE DEMAND AND NEED OF OF THE SECTOR IN TERMS OF SKILLED ARTISAN FARMERS, ANS WHAT IS AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET IN TZRMS OF OF TRAINING COURSES AND MODULES.
TIME FOR THE GOVERNMEMT TO RENEW OTHERWISE, THE NATION WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE LOW OUTPUT OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS, LEADING THE NATION TO SPEND ITS PRECIOUS HARD CURRENCY IN IMPORTING FOOD COMMODITIES INTO THE COUNTRY.
TIME TO RENEW FOR THE WORLD HADS CHANGED SINCE 1945.

At least donating 50 tractors to the government every year on farmers day would be a very welcome news so I humbly ask the man of God to do just that. Farmers day is around the conner so the nation would gladly be looking forward to getting some tractors from him so as to end the how and catlas farming. Until such donations are received from him, we would kindly appeal to him to offer alternative solutions by way of cash or large scale farming with modern farming machinery. So come this year's farmers day, we are looking forward to 50 brand new tractors from the noble man of God. No excuse

Instead of establishing a university he could have entered the agricultural sector to lead the revolution badly needed to modernize the sector to be like what is obtained in the developed countries.Anyway it is not late for him to do that and the nation will be grateful to him if he takes up that challenge.
