They paid the teacher training allowances and the nurse training allowances, all from the GHC 20 billion. Imagine the millions of dollars that would be saved from the importation of crude oil if this dam is able to generate 250 Megawatts of cheap hydropower? A young woman in New Takoradi was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the ocean. She went down to the docks and was about to leap into the frigid water when a handsome young sailor saw her tottering on the edge of the pier, crying.

He took pity on her and said, "Look, you have so much to live for. I'm off to Europe in the morning, and if you like, I can stow you away on my ship. I'll take good care of you and bring you food every day."
Moving closer, he slipped his arm around her shoulder and added, "I'll keep you happy, and you'll keep me happy."

The girl nodded yes. After all, what did she have to lose? Perhaps a fresh start in Europe would give her life new meaning.
That night, the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a lifeboat. From then on, every night he brought her three sandwiches and a piece of fruit, and they made passionate love until dawn.

Dr Kwame Nkrumah promised all the seamen in the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolise in the 50s that if we vote for him massively he will create a National Shipping Line for us.In that case Nkrumah got some of the seamen union leaders who were working under British companies to mobilise the masses and vote for CPP and Kwame Nkrumah.True to his promise,Dr Kwame Nkrumah started buying new Black Star Line ships in 1961,MV Pra River been the first one.From therein about,Kwame bought more 12 brand new ships before his removal.Some 4 new ships arrived later during Acheampong's era.Now I'll tell you why Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolis don't vote for NDC,it's simply because J.J.Rawlings sold all the 16 ships and closed down the Black Star Line entirely.Since there is no more ship for the seamen to work,the anger goes to the PNDC/NDC.It has nothing to do with stoways,it has to do with seafaring so Solomon Nkansah must engage the youth over there in a healthy discussion to know what they really want.I've been to stoway several times with Black star Liner but I was motivated to go and look for sea job abroad.Stoway is not the best option,when the youth gets better employment,nobody will dream of going to stoway.Thank you.

He should have told the community that with the expansion of the harbor comes more jobs and therefore no need for the youths to stowaway. Given the perilous journey stowaways endure, what kind of a person will encourage a person to do this.
