The Ghana National Association of Teachers has described as unfortunate, President John Dramani Mahama’s unilateral decision not to restore the scrapped allowances for trainee teachers.

The scrap of the allowances in 2014 triggered protests by many people, especially the teacher trainees but President Mahama has maintained he will not succumb to pressure, noting he prefers to lose the elections than to restore the allowance.

Government claimed the payment of the allowance was having “huge cost implication for the national budget” and also caused it to scale down the number of students intake through the imposition of what we call the quota system.

Addressing students of the Cape Coast University last week, President Mahama claimed the withdrawal of the allowance has increased enrollment at the various colleges of education nationwide.

But the General Secretary of GNA, David Ofori Acheampong, says the president could have allowed for broader consultations before making the statement.

He said one of the reasons given for the withdrawal of the allowance was that facilities were going to be expanded to take more trainee teachers but noted that has not been done.

“The reason they gave was that they wanted to expand the facilities and as I speak to you now no facility has been expanded in any College of Education. Even as I speak to you today, there is a problem with the final years who are supposed to come out next year,” Mr Acheampong said.

Speaking to TV3’s Daniel Opoku, he denied claims by President Mahama that enrollment has increased since the cancellation of the training allowances.

The whole NDC and their supporters are just low mental idiots. The two global indicators used to measure a country's development is the GDP and the growth rate. For comparison purposes, they can also be used. Now even animals claiming to be ruling in the jungle will, by common sense, know that GDP in 2015 should be higher than in 2008 if the animals don't have dead goat brain. Therefore the realistic indicator for comparison will be the growth rate, the momentum stimulation of the economy. Now in 2008, this was 9.1% and now under NDC it is 4.9%. This simply shows that between 2008 and 2006, the economy refused to grow and rather declined.
Under NDC and If one is to look at the economic growth rates of Ghana and its neighbours, Ghana falls behind with its growth rate of 4.9%. Ivory Coast leads with a growth rate of 9.4%, Burkina Faso and Togo recorded 5.9% and 5.8% growth rates respectively.
According to Bagbin Life expectancy the life expectancy of Ghanaians has improved from 58 years in 2008 to 64 years in 2012. This cannot happen meaning Bagbin does not know what he is talking about. Typical Pepeni AND NDC memeber!!!. It takes years and decades to increase life expectancy in any country. More so you cannot increase life expectancy when obviously the economy is in decline. How can you do that? Only under NDC and pepefuo regime, the mahams, Bagbins, Fuseinis, Ayarigas etc. Very unscientific.
The role of fools is very important in shaping their own lives. If you decide that fools and ignoramus people should lead you, these are the things you will be hearing. Your economy is struggling which everyone knows may be except pepefuo.
What the NDC fools should also realize is that, even in hell, some places will be a little bit cooler. Thus for this Bagbin from Nadawli to go and take categorization of only GDP and start talking nonsense simply means that he does not understand anything about economy of a country, He will be retired to to Nadawli and be sitting under the Dawadawa tree to be deceiving the small boys when they come back with their cattle from the field.
The message is VOTE THE NDC OUT. THEY HAVE NO FUTURE THIS COUNTRY. Like hacking, if you don’t contribute to the process you will not be hacked. FOR GHANA TO DEVELOP FOR ALL OF US, WE HAVE TO CONTRIBUTE IN A WAY. However, if fools outnumber the wise, and let fools lead us, we are all inside. Let those who get the message AS A RESPONSIBILITY continue to propagate it even to the villages. Politicians alone cannot do it. NDC had done that for years and now succeeded in bringing the country to its knees. THIS MUST CHANGE.
